Freelance Education Consultant opportunities – Financial and Enterprise Education
Young Enterprise is the UK’s leading enterprise and financial education charity, supporting schools, teachers and young people to develop the enterprising mindset they need to learn to earn and manage their money.
We are looking to expand our team of self-employed freelance specialist education consultants to support our range of programmes and services across England and Wales. We are seeking individuals with direct experience of the education sector in England and Wales, with a very good understanding of the issues affecting change and of how to influence what is taught in schools. A successful track record in developing teaching materials, and delivering and evaluating training (including face to face and virtual delivery), providing advice and consultancy in an educational context is essential; knowledge and/or experience of financial and/or enterprise education is required.
Consultants are expected to complete all paperwork and records as required by the organisation and to monitor, evaluate and track progress in line with contracted requirements. Consultants will also be asked to provide evidence of their self-employed status, and adequate insurance levels (public liability and professional indemnity insurance).
The programmes supported by YE’s education consultants include our flagship Centres of Excellence programme providing a whole school improvement framework – a set of national professional standards through which excellence in financial and enterprise education is achievable and exemplary. Education consultants may be contracted to work with Centres to create engaging and inspiring learning programmes, as well as offering comprehensive staff development and training.
We also have a dedicated Resource Development Service through which consultants can be contracted to author classroom activities, lesson plans and teaching materials for primary and secondary schools. Education consultants would be expected to create materials which are of the highest educational value, contain accurate and up-to-date information, and are engaging and relevant for the young people they are aimed at. We appreciate the strengths of each consultant, so where possible will match you to authoring that matches your areas of expertise.
As funding allows, Education Consultants can also be contracted to deliver CPD training to teachers and other educators and to provide training (both virtually and in person) to those who support vulnerable young people in non-mainstream education settings. This could involve supporting our Money Heroes programme, which delivers financial education to primary schools, through CPD teacher training and ongoing mentoring opportunities.
Across all programmes, delivery and training can involve a mix of in-person and online/virtual training and mentoring, so we are looking for experience and capability delivering via both methods.
These positions will be available on a self-employed, contracted basis as required and are home-based with some travel to schools required. Fees range from £225 for training delivery, £300 per 8 hour day for resource authoring, to £400 per 8 hour day for in depth consultancy support e.g. Centres of Excellence. Rates are inclusive of any applicable VAT.
Please email centresofexcellence@y-e.org.uk with your completed application form and CV if you wish to be considered.
