A Life Changing Experience

In 2008, we launched a programme to start tracking down our alumni; to find out where they are now and what effect Young Enterprise has had on their lives. We think the feedback is pretty inspirational. See below for what some our alumni had to say.

Highlights from Young Enterprise alumni report

1. Alumni are twice as likely to start their own business as their peers. And amongst business-owning alumni, Young Enterprise was consistently ranked as the most significant experience they drew upon when establishing their ventures.

2. Overall, alumni felt that Young Enterprise contributed more than anything else to their development of transferable skills (teamwork, decision-making, and self-motivation). And that includes school, extra-curricular activities and even work itself.

3. Across the board, Young Enterprise alumni earn more than their peers, being on average three times more likely to be in a high wage bracket.

4. YE alumni demonstrate increased social responsibility with more of them committing to some kind of volunteer work than their peers.

5. Our alumni are also more passionate about their jobs and satisfied in their career choices, with a full 77% feeling fulfilled and engaged by their jobs.
