Reap the rewards of being a YE volunteer

We do more than just inspire our students –Young Enterprise Programmes also have tangible benefits for our volunteers.  Young Enterprise Volunteers come from all walks of life. They have backgrounds which cut across every sector of the economy and at every level; they are in employment, entrepreneurs, stay at home parents, on career breaks or retired.  They have one thing in common. A desire to pass on their skills and experience of work to inspire the next generation.
Whether volunteering to work with a class of primary pupils for a day, mentoring Student Company or joining a leadership board, Young Enterprise has a volunteering opportunity to suit you.

The potential rewards from volunteering include:

  • Improving your networking and recruitment potential by engaging with the emerging creative workforce;
  • Developing and refining your managerial expertise in a real working environment, with an emphasis on high-level communication and team skills;
  • An increased awareness of your own industry sector and of broader business practices beyond it;
  • Access to training and the opportunity to immediately start putting your newly acquired skills into practice;
  • Contributing towards the CPD (Continuing Professional Development) qualification requirements of many professional bodies including the CIMA, ICSA, IFS and CPS;
  • The unique satisfaction that comes from developing the next generation of enterprising professionals through your own experience and wisdom.
