Young entrepreneurs learn from the best

Anthony Barker — 20 Feb 2012

Students from Cheshire West and Chester who have been running mini enterprises since September 2011, providing goods and services to the public, are looking forward to competing at the finals evening at Bank of America in March 2012.

The RIC played host to the Young Enterprise Company Programme Skills Workshops, providing the students with essential advice on marketing, finance and presentation skills which were delivered by colleagues and members of thebestofchester.

Young Enterprise Programme Manager, Kerry Beetham, said: "Young Enterprise is proud to be working with Riverside Innovation Centre and members of the thebestofchester, all giving their time and expertise to help prepare local students to succeed in their future working lives.”

Paul Kirkbright, Director of the Riverside Innovation Centre, welcomed students to the workshop. He said: “The Riverside Innovation Centre is dedicated to supporting aspiring entrepreneurs and we are delighted to support this event which nurtures and fosters the entrepreneurial mind-set of talented individuals.”

One of the mini enterprises will have the opportunity to develop their company within an ‘Ideas Accelerator’ at the Riverside Innovation Centre over the summer break.
