What is Young Enterprise?
Throughout your life at School, College or University you are constantly making decisions and choices that will affect your future - forming friendships, deciding which subjects to take, choosing whether to work hard at your studies, deciding whether to get involved in school groups and extra-curricular activities. And you never know when one of these decisions will change your life. Well here comes another one...
Ask yourself: How prepared are you for the future?
Hopefully you will gain the qualifications you need to embark on the career of your choice, but will you have the business skills necessary to make your career a success, or will you have the extra edge that will get you your dream job? Perhaps you would like to have a go at setting up your own business, but do you know where to start?
This is where Young Enterprise comes in. Young Enterprise is a UK registered charity on a mission to "inspire and equip young people to learn and succeed through enterprise". Each year, 291,000 young people like you get a head start on their working lives while they are still at school or university. They do this by taking part in a Young Enterprise programme where they gain knowledge and skills for business and enterprise either through a series of workshops and seminars or through setting up and running their own real company.
At Young Enterprise we believe that learning should be fun, exciting and hands-on, and we run our range of programmes on a learning-by-doing principle. Whether that means you get to set up and run your own business or you get to meet and learn from real entrepreneurs and business people, either way there is a Young Enterprise programme for every stage of your time in education.
On this web site you'll find more information about the opportunities available through Young Enterprise. Use the menu on the left of the screen to find out more about each Young Enterprise programme.

Here's how you get involved: Every Young Enterprise Company or Class has to belong to a Young Enterprise Registered Centre. This enables the Company or Class to have access to the resources it needs in order to run, and also to have an adviser from local business and a teacher or tutor on hand to help out and answer questions if needed. If your school, college or university is not already a Registered Centre, all you have to do is ask them to contact your nearest Young Enterprise office and ask to become one. Once registered you will receive information on how to get started on the programme of your choice.
