Go-it-alone Young Enterprise student bags special award.
A schoolgirl who refused to give up on a business idea, despite all the odds, has won a special award at the Cumbria finals of a Young Enterprise competition.
Amy Wozencroft, 18, who attends Netherhall School in Maryport, was managing director of the school's Kotton On business enterprise, which reached the county finals.
But when some of her fellow pupils pulled out of the Cumbria competition, saying that they were too busy studying for exams, Amy decided she would go it alone.
