Young lawyers at Harrison Clark Rickerbys have been testing their own business skills by challenging themselves to raise as much money as possible in a month from an initial stake of £10 in aid of the charity Young Enterprise. The six teams of trainee solicitors and paralegals who took part in the Tenner Challenge from across the firm’s Worcester, Hereford and Cheltenham offices raised a grand total of £890.
The teams made the most of February by using Valentine’s Day, Shrove Tuesday and even the Six Nations to boost their sales. Some teams combined business ideas to maximise their profits, but others focused on one theme. The fund raising ideas ranged from handmade Valentine’s Day flowers to pancakes, and from samosas to penalty shoot outs. The friendly competition between the teams to raise the most money was strong, with the Hereford team just beating the other teams with the profits from their personalised mug business.
