Herefordshire and Worcestershire
2200 students, 150 volunteers and 32 schools took part in YE across Herefordshire and Worcestershire this year. Major supporters include:
Worcester Bosch has supported the Worcestershire region for many years with financial support and with volunteers.
Bishop Fleming continues to support YE across the region sponsoring schools to take part as well as providing first class business advisers
Michelin Tyre PLC has been involved with Young Enterprise for a number of years – encouraging staff to take on the Company Programme business adviser role or be on judging panels and also by holding an annual ‘Dragons’ Den’.
Although not part of the official Young Enterprise competition, the ‘Dragons’ Den’ serves a number of purposes – timed at the beginning of the programme the teams receive early feedback on their product or service from business experts, which can help them to identify opportunities. The opportunity also helps the young people develop their presentation skills and build up their confidence to develop and practise presentation skills.
Employees report feeling privileged to be part of the young people’s YE journey. Helping with Young Enterprise is a very rewarding and positive experience. It brings employees into contact with young people who amaze and impress with their enthusiasm, creativity skills and sheer determination to bring a product or service to market. It gives you confidence that the UK economy will be in good hands!
