Pupils show great enterprise
AN ENTERPRISING group of students is celebrating after winning the regional heat of a business competition for young entrepreneurs.
And, Equipo, which markets a device to stop headphones getting tangled, has already won the support of a major retailer.
The group – whose 14 members all attend Alleyne’s High School in Stone – was named as winner of the Young Enterprise Staffordshire County Finals 2013, which recognises the efforts of fledging firms set up by school pupils.
The group’s ‘Earbuddy’ invention spanned from the fact that – when researching the market to find a suitable niche – they discovered that one pair of earphones is sold every six seconds.
