Borlase business makes county finals of prestigious competition
An idea to mould glass bottles into clocks has taken a group of sixth formers from Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School in Marlow through to the county finals of a nationwide business competition.
Eight pupils from the school in West Street beat 16 teams in the local area heat of Young Enterprise business competition held at Bucks New University in High Wycombe on March 15 with their business named Rewind.
The team is due to attend The Open University in Milton Keynes tomorrow for the county finals to be judged by business experts against seven other winning companies in Bucks.
Young Enterprise is a scheme to encourage youngsters to develop their entrepreneurial skills and creativity.
Teams across the country are given a brief to start a company from scratch and formulate a product idea which they must market and sell for profit.
The project is offered as a voluntary extra-curricular activity through schools.
