Sparky students aim for glory
The budding entrepreneurs that make up Spark, the Young Enterprise team from Christ the King College, will this week be hoping to rekindle their Island success, when they enter the regional finals.
The team will be heading to London’s Royal Holloway University tomorrow, to compete for the top prize of South East Company of the Year 2013.
More than 5,000 students across the region, aged 14-18, took part in the Young Enterprise scheme this year, but only a few have made the next stage. Spark will now be pitted against teams from Milton Keynes, Jersey, Oxford, Guildford, Farnborough and Tunbridge Wells, and the competition is set to be fierce.
The company, which specialises in woodcraft and has worked with organisations such as the Earl Mountbatten Hospice in producing their products, are will be judged on a number of factors, including their company report, trade stand and presentation on the day.
