RS Components donates Raspberry Pi computers to Young Enterprise students
RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc, the world’s leading high service distributor of electronics and maintenance products, has donated 30 Raspberry Pi Model B computer boards to local students who have excelled in the ‘Young Enterprise Company Programme’, one of the schemes run by ‘Young Enterprise’, a national education charity.
As part of the Young Enterprise Company Programme, students set up and run their own businesses. Participating students from three local schools, Brooke Weston CTC, Corby Business Academy and Lodge Park Academy, visited RS at its Corby site this week for the presentation made in recognition of their achievements in reaching regional and national finals of the Company Programme.
Presenting the students with their Raspberry Pi computers, Paul Quested, Global Strategy Director at Electrocomponents, stated, “RS has worked with Young Enterprise on various programmes over the past twelve years and is proud of the achievements of the local schools we are currently supporting.
Today’s Raspberry Pi donation is in celebration of the success of the students and demonstrates our commitment as a company to encourage hands-on learning that will help foster a life-long love of engineering.”
