Vote for Wendy in the finals of the Venus business awards!
A key staff member at Britain’s largest enterprise education charity has made it into the final of a major women’s business award.
Wendy Gorham, Young Enterprise Manager for East Sussex – Brighton and Hove, is now seeking the public’s votes in her bid to be named The Argus Employee of the Year 2013.
The Venus Awards were founded in 2010 by Tara Howard, managing director of Langtry Manor Hotels, as a way to recognise women in business in local regions across the country.
Wendy attributes her success in getting to the finals to a wave of support, partly from other Young Enterprise volunteers.
In a message to them she said: “Just to say thank you so much to everyone who kindly voted for Young Enterprise in the category of The Argus employee of the year NatWest Venus Awards, Brighton public vote.
“The good news is that we are now a finalist in September! This is great news and wonderful publicity for the charity in our 50th year. There were hundreds of applications and thousands of votes so this is a great achievement just making it to the final.
“We will let you know how we get on in September but thank you for all your support!”
She added: “I cannot believe we have got this far!”
The finals ball night with the awards ceremony is on 27th September at the Brighton Hilton Metropole. The dress code is Black Tie.
Wendy is also attending an afternoon tea at the Brighton Hilton Metropole on July 19th at 2pm to meet the award sponsors and the press.
Contestants have been asked to: “PR the hell out of the fact that you are a finalist using social media, press releases, blogs, your website, e-mails signature and anything else you can think of.”
