Teen tycoons to sell their wares at Stone farmers’ market
Products include recycled china plates which have been turned into vintage cake stands
Eleven Young Enterprise teams from schools across Stafford and Stone will be trying to drum up interest in their products this Saturday.
The sixth form students are holding the trade fair at Stone farmers’ market.
Products they will be marketing include recycled china plates which have been turned into vintage cake stands, place mats and smartphone accessories.
Judges will be running the rule over their efforts, with marks for the professionalism of the teams and how much money they generate.
A competition spokesman said: “Each team will present their products for sale throughout the day and display critical information about their business structure, finances and successes to date.”
First, second and third prize winners will be announced at the end of the day.
The challenge is part of Staffordshire’s Young Enterprise programme, which sees students set up their own businesses to learn about finance, sales, marketing and HR.
The young people are supported by volunteer business advisers.
