Students’ candles prove to be a bright idea
"We are extremely proud of our students."
When it comes to customer service, it seems there’s no beating the pupils of Hanham High School.
It’s Young Enterprise team “Diffusion” have won an award for the second time this year to be crowned top for customer service, beating fierce competition from fellow schools around the South West.
On Saturday March 1, the team joined fellow schools to sell their hand-made candles and tie dye socks at the Young Enterprise Trade Fair in Cabot Circus. Not only did the students win the award, they sold out of their candles within two hours.
The students will now face judges on March 31 in the area heats to see if they’ve made the next round in the area finals.
Their candles were spotted at the trade fair and the students have also been invited to compete in an additional competition backed by the mayor of Bristol George Ferguson.
Sarah Hansford, head of business at Hanham High School, said: “We are extremely proud of our students.”
