Sarah Bonnell and Kingsmead Schools win at Deutsche Bank Young Entrepreneurs UK Final
Sarah Bonnell School in Stratford and Kingsmead School in Enfield had been selected to represent London against teams from Liverpool and Birmingham in the Deutsche Bank Young Enterpreneurs National Final, organised in conjunction with Young Enterprise.
Volunteers from Deutsche Bank took part as judges whilst some of the UK’s most talented young entrepreneurs from London, Liverpool and Birmingham competed at the Final on the 6th May at its offices in London.
The competition is part of Deutsche Bank’s youth engagement programme, Born to Be, which aims to help prevent youth unemployment by offering opportunities that give the next generation the skills required to fulfil their potential.
Deutsche Bank and Young Enterprise developed the competition in partnership in 2008 in order to enable inner city schools serving deprived communities to develop skills for the real world of business. Over 2,000 students from 165 schools took part in Young Entrepreneurs this year.
Sarah Bonnell’s team, Green Cloud won the Green Award for their handmade products such as vases and pencil pots.
Kingsmead’s team, SIMMER, won the Innovation Award for their product ‘Around the World in 80 Packs’; a series of entertaining activity packs to educate children on the joys of cooking.

The students taking part have developed important skills, from teamwork to budget management and marketing, all of which will enable them to fulfil their future potential. I wish the deserved winners many congratulations.”
Last year Young Enterprise inspired 250,000 young people to empower themselves through enterprise, developing the key skills employers require from entry-level employees. Deutsche Bank and Young Enterprise have partnered since 2001 to support skills development amongst young people.
