Business boost for Poole youngsters

Sixth form met business advisers from Princecroft Willis, Barclays, Adido, Aspire 2B Free, 3PB Barristers and U Need Us

poole harbour Young EnterprisePoole Harbour Commissioners welcomed more than 80 sixth formers (pictured left) to the launch event for this year’s Young Enterprise scheme.

Students from Poole High and Corfe Hills sixth form gained an insight into the world of work and met with individual business advisers from Princecroft Willis, Barclays, Adido, Aspire 2B Free, 3PB Barristers and U Need Us!

Following the group mentoring sessions, students had the opportunity to discover the Port and to find out more about PHC as an organisation and what their role as guardians of Poole Harbour entails.

Poole Harbour Commissioners’ safety and security manager, Dave Laut, said: “Poole Harbour Commissioners is committed to supporting the programmes run by the Young Enterprise. It’s a fantastic organisation that helps children benefit in their future employment. It’s these initiatives that enhance their communication, team work, planning and leadership skills.”

PHC will continue to assist the students with their business education and their understanding of the commercial operation of a busy port and harbour.
