Coleg Cambria Kick-Starts Young Enterprise in Wales – Radio Deeside

Coleg Cambria students were joined by over 110 pupils from Coleg Pengwern, Darland High School, Denbigh High School, Rydal High School, St Joseph’s High School and Ysgol Maes Garmon to take part in a Bric & Brac Challenge Day which was lead by Selwyn Griffith, Manager for Young Enterprise North and Mid Wales, and supported by Heather Roberts, a Young Enterprise Board Member.

The Challenge was designed to give all learners a taste of setting up and running a business in a competitive environment. Each team that completed the challenge worked under pressure to react and adapt to changing demands and meet strict deadlines. The pupils demonstrated great communication skills and selling techniques together with creative thinking and problem solving. They all showed strong team working and leadership skills.

All seven institutions will be taking part in various Young Enterprise programmes this coming year including Team and Company Programmes which will allow learners to set up and run their own real company.
