Hampshire and Isle of Wight County Final
Farnborough 6th Form College bag awards at Young Enterprise competition
Students from Farnborough 6th Form College were crowned Hampshire and Isle of Wight’s Best Company at the Young Enterprise Final on May 6th 2015 held at The Ordnance Survey, Southampton.
The students company, Conspiracy, beat off stiff competition from 6 other teams to be the overall winners, Conspiracy promote and sell student art in the community.
Conspiracy plus runner up, Inspire from Farnborough Hill who produced and sold a cookbook aimed at university students, will now represent Hampshire at the Company Programme Regional Final on 16th June 2015 in Oxford and could be one step away from competing in the UK Final in July taking place at the British Film Institute in London.
Young Enterprise’s Company Programme is aimed at 15 to 19 year olds. Participants set up and run businesses for an academic year, guided by local business mentors.
Tina Braithwaite, Young Enterprise Manager said: “We had some great companies started up by students in Hampshire this year and all the judges were incredibly impressed with the products and services they had developed and the presentations they gave at the Awards.
The Awards sponsored bu Garmin UK, Kaplan Financial, Southampton, NatWest, The Nav People and Winchester University Business School highlighted how the Young Enterprise Company Programme can inspire young people to become the entrepreneurs of tomorrow and help them develop practical business skills while they are still in education’’.
