Company Programme 2013-14 launches in Merseyside
Young Enterprise in Merseyside launched its flagship Company Programme for the 2013-14 academic year at the University of Liverpool on 2nd July 2013.
The launch was held the day after the UK Final, at which Prime from Kingston upon Thames were crowned Young Enterprise UK Company of the Year 2013.
The Merseyside event featured an enterprise challenge with the attending schools, which was won by Greenbank High School in Southport, a new sign up to the Company Programme.
Royal Heart Design, from All Saints Catholic Centre for Learning, who were crowned Merseyside Company of the Year 2013 back in May, spoke at the event and inspired next year’s cohort as well as Sean Kirk, North West Student of the Year 2013 from Carmel College.
Greenbank High School were delighted to win the first award of the new Company Programme Year within Merseyside and link teacher Jo Edwards described the event as ‘a great start to the programme and our team are now fully motivated and full of ideas for the year ahead’.
Approximately 160 students from 16 schools have already signed up for the Company Programme in the area for next year’s cohort.
Andrew Firr, Young Enterprise Manager, said: ‘’This event has really excited us for next year’s cohort, it promises to be the most competitive competition in the county for many years. To allow next years students to see the standard set by this years County Winners Royal Heart Design has provided inspiration and a required standard to achieve”
