Milton Keynes school pupils to enter Dragon’s Den-style event
BUDDING entrepreneurs from the city’s schools will be pitching their business ideas in a Dragon’s Den-style event next month.
Teams of 16 to 18-year-olds from 15 schools including Milton Keynes Academy, Oakgrove School and Walton High, will give 10-minute presentations to representatives from businesses in the city such as Network Rail.
And like true dragons Duncan Bannatyne and Debroah Meaden, they will listen to the team’s ideas and question and advise them on how they could improve.
The event, taking place throughout November, is being organised by the Milton Keynes Young Enterprise team, which is aiming to unite local businesses with schools.
David Stimson, one of the organisers and business mentor at dsp-newstart, said: “It is aimed at focusing the kids and showing off their entrepreneurial spirit.”
