Students sparkled in Young Enterprise Isle of Wight
Students from Christ the King College will be travelling to London to compete in the Young Enterprise regional finals after winning the Isle of Wight heat.
On Wednesday, May 8, the Island’s Young Enterprise teams, who have been running their own businesses since September 2012, gathered at Quay Arts, Newport, to field questions from the judging panel at their trade stands before delivering their final presentations.
Awards were given in six individual categories before Spark, the company from Christ the King College, scooped the prestigious ‘Company of the Year Award’.
The company specialises in woodcraft and worked with the Earl Mountbatten Hospice to produce wooden Walk the Wight key-rings to mark the event.
Spark also produced intricate wooden Christmas tree decorations in December and ‘Love Letter’ tiles for Valentine’s Day.
