Students take part in the Young Entrepreneurs competition at Deutsche Bank
40 students take part in the Young Entrepreneurs competition at Deutsche Bank on March 26, 2015
Young Enterprise are thrilled to announce that the Young Entrepreneurs competition, supported by Deutsche Bank, will be taking place on Thursday 26th March. This prestigious event is being held at Deutsche Bank in London with seven teams, made up of 40 students, trading and pitching to a panel of judges.
The Young Entrepreneurs programme has been developed to widen participation in Young Enterprise’s flagship Company Programme, where young people set up and run their own business. Created in partnership with Deutsche Bank in 2008, as part of its youth engagement programme, Born to Be, Young Entrepreneurs enables students at inner city state schools serving deprived communities to develop skills to succeed in the workplace, improving their attendance and attainment, and encouraging them to have ambitions for the future. The programme, aimed at 14–19 year olds at risk of underachieving in education, sees groups of students form and run small companies to make and sell a product or service of their choice.
The youth-run companies will compete for the title of: ‘Young Entrepreneurs Company of The Year’, ‘The Green Award’, ‘Innovative Award’, ‘Marketing Award’ and a ‘Special Recognition Award’.
There are nearly 1 million 16–24 year olds in the UK not in employment, education or training today because they didn’t get the support to help them find what they were born to be. Born to Be aims to break the cycle of youth unemployment through early intervention. www.db.com/borntobe
