Wayne Rooney gives Player of the Month cash to Young Enterprise
Man U star donates Player of the Month cash to our Trafford branch
Wayne Rooney has celebrated being named as United’s Player of the Month for September by donating to Young Enterprise.
The striker was the overwhelming choice of Reds supporters on ManUtd.com, Twitter and the club’s six foreign language websites.
The winners of the monthly awards are asked make a donation to a charity of their choice, as well as picking up a trophy.
Proving that our reputation of working with young people to unleash their potential spreads across the UK, Rooney said: “I’m donating the money to the Young Enterprise charity in Trafford.
“It’s a charity that teaches school children important skills for when they start their working life.”
He has donated £500 to Young Enterprise as part of his prize.
Wayne netted the playing prize after a string of excellent performances last month, which included five goals in all competitions.
“It’s always nice to win any award and for this one to be voted for by the fans is special and something I’m very pleased about,” he told ManUtd.com.
