Learner Development Journey


Our Learner Development Journey maps intended learning outcomes for our secondary and further education programmes against eight key employability competencies. These are endorsed by findings from the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and informed by other employability skills research.

The Journey takes young people from stage 1 – raising awareness of employability competencies, through to stage 4 where they model these competencies through real-life experience.

Research shows that 4 consecutive enterprise education interventions dramatically increase young people’s employability competencies (please see Be Enterprising, Be Successful evaluation report).

Our Learner Development Journey Theory of Change illustrates how Young Enterprise believes the Learner Development Journey supports young people into making a smooth transition into employment, education and/or training.
