Community Life

Community Life helps pupils solve problems and gain new skills as they make decisions as part of a fictional community.

Target Age: KS1 and KS2
Delivery time: full or half day

KS1 pupils assemble a jigsaw from a specifically designed picture of an imaginary community. Pupils develop skills as they work to solve problems in the community, help tidy the fictional school classroom, decide what to do with a closed down restaurant, and find out more about jobs and the tools that workers require.

KS2 pupils develop skills as they work to solve problems in the community, such as what to do with the empty shop and how to re-open the school after a fire. The pupils then work in pairs to create their very own community within a budget, and present a community development idea to the class of Town Planners.
