Young Enterprise Market is back at Old Spitalfields
Wednesday 12th February from 12pm – 3pm
Young Enterprise Market is back at Old Spitalfields on Wednesday 12th February from 12pm – 3pm.
More than 40 Young Enterprise student companies will be competing for trade and glory, selling products from vegetable planting kits to unisex bow ties. They will also be trying to win prizes for Best Trade Stand, Best Sales Person, Best Sales Team, Most Innovative Product and Best Overall Company.
All the students pitching their products at Old Spitalfields Market are taking part in Young Enterprise’s flagship Company Programme. Aimed at students aged between 15 and 19, the programme gives them the chance to set up and run their own company for a year, under the guidance of a skilled business mentor.
The students elect a board of directors from amongst their peers, raise share capital and market and finance a product or service that they create. During an intense 12-month period they trade at shopping centres and markets all over London. Old Spitalfields Market is seen as the most prestigious trading location.
Young Enterprise is the UK’s largest business and enterprise education charity. Every year they help 225,000 young people learn about business and the world of work in 5,000 schools, colleges and universities under the guidance of volunteers from 3,500 companies.
Old Spitalfields is proud to be part of this venture which helps to tackle youth unemployment. This is a great event to inspire the budding entrepreneurs of the future, so if you have kids or know people who may find this event of interest then please let them know.
