Young Enterprise responds to the British Chambers of Commerce findings on employer engagement in education
Michael Mercieca, chief executive of Young Enterprise (incorporating pfeg) comments:
“I welcome the findings from the British Chambers of Commerce, which highlight the benefits of employer engagement in education. Bringing business into the classroom introduces young people to the world of work and encourages the development of key employability skills, which is cited by education leaders in this survey as being the most beneficial reason for this engagement.
“It is encouraging to see that 81% of the educational establishments surveyed partner with businesses. Ensuring that this is an easy and rewarding experience for both sides is essential, and this is where our enterprise education programmes can be beneficial. We act as the broker between the businesses and the schools, allowing young people to gain experience of work and practice the skills required to succeed.”
