Young Enterprise Trade Fair to be broadcast live on Banbury Sound
Kirsty will be broadcasting live between 10.00am-12.00pm on March 1
In this current school year, over 530 young people across Oxfordshire aged 15 – 18 are taking part in the Young Enterprise Company Programme.
In the Company Programme, students set up and run their own real company, electing a board of directors from amongst themselves, raising share capital and then marketing and financing a product or service of their own choice. At the end of the year they liquidate the company and present a report and accounts as part of a National Competition.
Banbury Trade Fair is the second opportunity in this year’s Company Programme for schools to come together to sell their products and services to the general public and will take place on Saturday 1st March 2014 as a part of Banbury’s long established Saturday market, with each company having its own market stall for the day. This is the first time that the Banbury Trade Fair has been held outdoors, having been held in previous years in Castle Quay Shopping Centre. Kirsty will be broadcasting between 10.00am – 12.00pm!
This year’s event is taking place with support from Sketts Quality Events and Cherwell District Council.
The Deputy Town Mayor of Banbury, Councillor Sean Woodcock, will be visiting the event in the afternoon to judge and award the Banbury Charter Shield for the Best Trade Stand. Around 15 teams from schools across Oxfordshire will be taking part on the day and as well selling their products and there are awards on offer for the Best Trade Stand, Best Customer Service and Best Product or Service
