Company Programme provides a vehicle for young people’s and businesses’ growing need for adaptability and employability skills. It provides an experiential learning opportunity that introduces young people to the practical realities of the world of work.
With the growth of digital and the increase of artificial intelligence, employers are increasingly looking for people who are innovative, creative and adaptable, and who have the ability to apply these skills and attitudes, irrespective of the role.
Our Company Programme provided the perfect opportunity for young people to develop these skills in an engaging and challenging way. This development of ‘human’ intelligence, not only enriches their academic learning , but also provides a strong foundation for their futures.
Our evaluation approach aims to understand to what extent young people have developed their skills, knowledge and attitudes across our eight core employability competencies and three additional employability competencies specific to Company Programme. We ask students, teachers and volunteer business advisers to reflect on the difference the programme has made to the skills of young people through the completion of questionnaires at different times of the academic year.
