Young Enterprise's First-Ever National Money Assembly with Martin Lewis CBE
We are delighted to announce our first-ever live-streamed National Money Assembly, taking place on Monday 15 June at 9am, featuring Martin Lewis CBE, founder of MoneySavingExpert.
Broadcast live to secondary schools across the UK, the Assembly will bring students together for a shared start to My Money Week – the UK’s national week for financial education. The event offers a unique opportunity for young people to hear directly from Martin Lewis and gain practical insights to help them make informed financial decisions now and in the future.
Designed for students aged 14+ but available to all secondary schools, the Assembly will be live-streamed into schools nationwide, with the option to watch again via on-demand playback.
Martin Lewis, Founder of MoneySavingExpert said:“Companies spend billions each year on advertising, marketing and teaching staff to sell. Yet many of our children are sent out into the world without buyers training, unprepared and ill-equipped to handle making financial decisions for themselves. And that’s without even taking into account the ever growing threat of scammers.
Every child in every school needs a proper financial education - not as a tick-box exercise, but taught in a way that is practical, relevant and engaging, and that can tool them up with what they need to know when they first become independent adults. This isn’t just about listening to what children want to know, there is also much they need to know that they will not yet be aware of. We have to help them through both. That is why I am delighted to deliver the first-ever National Money Assembly.”
Sign ups for the LIVE assembly on Monday 15 June at 9am are now closed. Watch this space for a recording of the assembly after the event.
Still have questions? See below!
What if the Assembly doesn’t align with our school’s usual assembly time?
No problem. You can choose to watch the Assembly live or access the full recording later in the week at a time that suits you.
What year group is the Assembly suitable for?
The National Money Assembly is designed for students 14+, but schools can make this available to other year groups if they feel it would be of interest.
We would prefer to use the Assembly in a lesson or tutorial rather than an assembly.
That’s absolutely fine – the Assembly can and should be used in any way that suits schools, either live or on play-back.
Is there any cost to take part?
The National Money Assembly is totally free to take part in, as is My Money Week.
