Smartmonies
The resource offers a flexible format—either as a single lesson or a full 10-lesson course—delivered through short, engaging online sessions (30 minutes each). This session length is ideal for maintaining children’s attention and keeping them engaged without overwhelm. It also fits easily into busy schedules and allows children to go at their own pace, whether in the classroom or at home. Each session introduces key financial literacy topics in a child-friendly and practical way, covering earning, saving, spending, keeping a register, needs vs wants, and an early introduction to tax and public services.
Smartmonies’ unique approach is grounded in real-life scenarios that children can relate to—like planning how to spend pocket money, saving for a birthday gift or donating to a charity, or understanding why adults pay tax. This makes abstract financial concepts tangible and meaningful. Activities include discussions, decision-making games, and interactive tasks, helping children explore their values and build financial confidence in a safe, age-appropriate way.
All lessons are delivered live online by qualified educators and have been tried, tested, and refined through hands-on work with children. The content has also been reviewed by specialists in children’s psychology to ensure it meets the highest standards of engagement and relevance.
The programme concludes with the Smartmonies Game—a hands-on activity where children apply their learning to make spending, saving, and giving choices. It’s a fun and interactive way to practise wealth accumulation and explore the impact of wise financial decisions in a playful, risk-free environment.
Smartmonies is proud to be accredited with the Financial Education Quality Mark by Young Enterprise—recognising our commitment to delivering high-quality, impactful learning for children.
