The Money Charity’s vision is for everyone to achieve financial wellbeing by managing their money well. We empower people across the UK to build the skills, knowledge, attitudes and behaviours, to make the most of their money throughout their lives; helping them achieve their goals and live a happier, more positive life as a result.
Secondary Money Workshops
We’ve been delivering Money Workshops for 11-19 year olds for over 15 years, and have reached over 330,000 young people since 2010. The workshops take teams of young people through a journey involving the types of scenarios and financial decisions they will face as adults, with discussion and debate along the way.
We deliver our Money Workshops across the UK in a wide range of settings including schools, colleges, community groups, Pupil Referral Units, and via charities. We offer pick and mix modules covering all sorts of topics from budgeting to pensions and credit to reading a pay slip, and lots in between. The workshops can be delivered face to face or virtually and are interactive and engaging.
We also offer an Activity Based Workshop for young people and adults with Special educational needs.
Primary Money Challenge
This workshop is an introduction to topics like ways we pay for things, spending priorities and budgeting, and includes a challenge for the children to go away and deliver a peer to peer activity to younger pupils.
We offer virtual and face to face workshops specifically designed for undergraduate university students. For many young people, being a student is the first time that they become financially independent, so it’s a vital time to ensure they have all the information and confidence to feel like they can stay on top of their money.
Our brand new ‘My Money After Uni’ workshop gets young people in their final year of study thinking about how they will manage their money when they take the next step in their lives, and leave education. It covers topics such as budgeting after uni, banking after uni, student loan repayments and investing. We are delighted that for the first time, we can offer a limited number of free university workshops. Get in touch if you’re interested!
Our 2024/25 version of our digital guide to everything you need to know about money whilst at uni is available online, for free. It’s ideal for Post-16 students thinking about going to uni, as well as those who are already there.
Our ‘lessons in a box’ contain all the resources and instructions a teacher needs to deliver a financial education lesson without having to do the prep themselves. Packs are available for free to schools to download, and include topics such as insurance, budgeting, saving, renting, mortgages and credit.
As experts in delivering engaging and impactful financial education, we help all sorts of organisations develop content, resources and training to enable them to deliver financial education themselves. We work with large corporates, publishers, other charities, and many more to help them to ensure that their products and services are of a high quality.
