What is Financial Education?

What is Financial Education?

Financial education is a planned programme of study that equips young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage their money well.

It ensures learners grow to understand their attitude to risk, and become aware of their own behaviour and emotions when making financial decisions through real-life scenarios.

Our Work

Our Work

We believe that the most sustainable approach to financial education is to support those directly involved in educating young people. Whilst a significant proportion of our work focuses on supporting schools and teachers, we recognise that parents and carers and local communities also play an important role.

We provide a wealth of support for anyone involved in this.

The case for young people to leave school able to be in control of their money and to plan for the future has never been stronger.  Children and young people encounter money earlier and earlier, spending and saving their pocket money, mobile phones, pre-paid cards and part time jobs.  Crucial decisions have to be taken about student loans, getting a job or living independently.  We owe it to the next generation to invest in their future.
