Money Heroes

Money Heroes is an award-winning FREE programme from Young Enterprise, supported by HSBC UK, seeking to transform financial education for primary children or those at a learning age of 3-11.

Money Heroes is our largest primary financial education programme; supported by HSBC UK, we are seeking to transform Financial Education for primary age children in school, other education settings and at home.

Through a wide range of fun, engaging and high-quality resources, guidance and tools, together with free CPD-certified training and bespoke mentoring for teachers, Money Heroes offers a full package of support which aims to develop educators’ and parents’ confidence, knowledge, and skills in delivering financial education and developing children’s habits and attitudes around money.

Research shows that, on average, children begin to develop their financial habits by the age of seven; so the younger we can start improving children’s financial literacy the better.

Money Heroes package of support includes:

  • Storybooks which are available in convenient and accessible formats including downloadable eBooks, Print, Audiobooks, BSL, Large Print and Braille. They are also now available in Welsh.
  • Ready to use classroom and home activities for Early Years, KS1 and KS2 which are linked to the Primary Planning Framework. Adapted, accessible versions are now available for children with SEND.
  • Free CPD-certified financial education training and bespoke mentoring for teachers and schools.
  • A Teacher guide to support educators delivering financial education in formal classroom settings.
  • A parent guide offering guidance on how to deliver financial education at home.
  • Parent podcasts, featuring guests such as Sir Chris Hoy, aimed at empowering parents to tackle financial education with their children.
  • A SEND Educator guide to support educators who do not teach in formal education settings.
  • A board game designed by Orchard Toys is available for teachers to order.
  • A fun and interactive digital game.

Money Heroes and partners

Money Heroes are proud to have worked with BBC Children in Need to ensure that the programme is accessible for all. We recognise that teachers and parents are not always the key influencers in a child’s life, and so we have adapted our offer to increase accessibility for these children. By working with BBC Children in Need, we hope to reach children who may not otherwise receive financial education and make a difference to their futures.

We have also teamed up with some other incredible partners to produce our Money Heroes tools and resources, including:

  • Scholastic
  • Orchard Toys
  • Royal Association of Deaf People
  • Royal National Institute for the Blind
  • Playerthree
  • The Podcast Company

Money Heroes is supported by HSBC UK.
