YE Green skills competition

As we aim for a ‘greener’ and more sustainable future it is important for countries to come together to set goals to work towards. The United Nations Development Programme has created a list of goals to do this. The Sustainable Development Goals, are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all".

Competition

Goal 17 of the SDGs is to ‘Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development’. This goal is about creating sustainable partnerships that bring communities together and have a positive impact on the environment.

With that in mind we want you to think of a partnership between 2 organisations (government, corporate businesses or charities) that you think could:

  • Work together to develop innovative ways to help achieve the UNDP’s Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Be mutually beneficial to each other and be commercially successful

Once you have come up with your partnership idea we want you to create a video (no longer than 1 minute) which:

  • Describes the partnership and why the two organisations would work well together
  • Explains the impact this would have on one or more of the UNDP’s sustainable
    development goals
How to enter the competition: To enter simply post a video (no more than 60 seconds) on Twitter with the #YEGreenSkillsChallenge and tagging your school by Friday 9th of April.

Prizes: The top 3 videos will receive a certificate and a £50 Amazon voucher and the overall winner will also receive an additional special prize.

Please note – this competition is only for 13-18 year olds currently taking part in a Young Enterprise programme!
