New Trustees

Young Enterprise, the national charity for enterprise education, has appointed two new young trustees, Sabreen Ahsan and Mina Karshala to join the board of trustees with effect from July 2021.

The appointments come at an exciting time for Young Enterprise as the charity delivers on its three year strategy, No Time Like The Future.  The Young Trustees will work with fellow board members, CEO Sharon Davies and the wider Young Enterprise team to deliver on strategy objectives to create a minimum of 1 million opportunities for young people to develop skills and an enterprising mindset to prepare for a fast changing world of work.

Young Enterprise has recruited these two new young trustees to bring fresh insight and perspective to the charity’s operations. Sabreen has a background in working for education charities and brings a passion for supporting young people in education. She founded PIYA Media, a digital marketing agency for BAME creatives and entrepreneurs.

Mina Karshala is a 2013 Young Enterprise alumna and attributes her experience with Young Enterprise as the foundation of her career path. Mina works at an education charity and runs her own business during her evenings and weekends.

Ahsan and Karshala’s roles on the Trustee Board will be to contribute to Young Enterprise’s wider mission of ensuring no child’s potential is limited by their socio-economic background.

Sharon Davies, CEO of Young Enterprise said: “We are very excited to welcome Sabreen and Mina to our board who bring with them  incredible insights and ideas to deliver on our strategy to create one million opportunities for young people.  These appointments come at a particularly pertinent time for young people around the UK, as we look to provide meaningful opportunities for young people coping with challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Simon Lewis OBE, Chairman of Young Enterprise said: ‘I am delighted to welcome Sabreen and Mina to the board of Young Enterprise. Following a rigorous selection process, we have chosen two young women of enormous talent and potential to contribute to our work. Given our mission, all the trustees believe that it is really important to directly hear the voice of young people on our board and I am sure their contributions will enrich our discussions and enhance our decision making.’
