My Money Matters

Produced by Young Money

Minimum Age: 13
Maximum Age: 19

Our online courses are designed to support young people to develop the vital skills they need to get into employment, earn and look after their money. Suitable for learners aged 13-19, each course is structured around a series of units, providing young people with multiple opportunities to learn, do and review.

Based on the Your Money Matters textbook, over 6 online units, My Money Matters provides students with the opportunity to explore their own attitudes to money and gain key financial skills to help them in the real world.

Designed for students aged 14-16, but suitable for all secondary-aged students, My Money Matters provides students with the opportunity to explore their own attitudes to money and gain a few key financial skills to help them in the real world. Over the six units, students will:

  • Learn about the different options for saving and reflect on their own saving habits
  • Explore ways to make the most of their money
  • Gain a deep insight into borrowing and debt
  • Look ahead to life after school and explore the different options available to them
  • Enter the world of financial risk and reward
  • Learn about the common scams people fall victim to and learn how to protect themselves against them

The course maps to the themes in the Your Money Matters textbook and can be used alongside it or independently. The units of the course can be completed in any order and teachers can set specific units for students to focus on.

Access to My Money Matters costs £5 per student license. Regional funding in some areas of England and Wales allows us to offer up to 250 student licenses (per school) free to some schools.
